Our last performance suddenly spawned some quite strange debates on what is it that Lacklustre Mirror actually plays? What genre, what style? Some said it’s an apparent ‘early’ doom metal, others say ‘darkwave’ or ‘rock’. Somebody even has noticed, that Lacklustre Mirror makes some weird leaps in its sounding from a record to another (as if we have many!) thus it’s barely understandable, what they play exactly…

Well, actually Lacklustre Mirror’s members have never actually known what genre do we belong to. And I can’t say we have ever cared about it too much.

What cannot be denied, however, is that LM’s music had indeed been influenced heavily by metal music - mostly doom-death, symphonic and ‘gothic’ metal music - ever since its conception back in late 1990s. However Lacklustre Mirror is not really about metal. It’s the atmosphere and that certain energy surge - however gloomy they may appear prima facie -  those are the primary goal. And the rest are the means.

And the means may vary, don’t they?..
